VoxLog is built so that your data stays yours. This policy explains what that means.
The short version
VoxLog does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. The app has no account, no servers, and no third-party trackers or analytics. Everything you record and write stays on your device.
What VoxLog stores, and where
- Your recordings, transcripts, journal entries, moods, themes, action items, and settings are
stored locally on your iPhone.
- VoxLog has no backend server and makes no network requests to us. We never receive your
voice notes, your transcripts, your journal, or any usage information.
Microphone and speech recognition
VoxLog uses your microphone only to record a voice note, and on-device speech recognition only to transcribe it. Both run on your iPhone โ recording, transcription, and the AI that structures your entry all happen on-device โ and are never transmitted off your device by VoxLog.
On-device AI
VoxLog uses Apple's on-device intelligence (Foundation Models) and on-device speech recognition (SpeechAnalyzer on iOS 26+, SFSpeechRecognizer on earlier versions) to transcribe and structure your entries. These features run locally on your iPhone. Your recordings and transcripts are not sent to us or to any third party for processing.
When data leaves your device
Only when you choose:
- Exporting your journal as Markdown, plain text, or PDF and sharing it via the iOS share sheet
sends that file wherever you direct it.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. VoxLog never sees your payment
details; we store only a local flag indicating whether Pro is unlocked.
Third parties
None. VoxLog includes no advertising, attribution, or analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Google, Facebook, Mixpanel, Sentry, etc.). We do not use cookies or device identifiers.
Children
VoxLog does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it.
